Designer Notes

Cherry trees are a sight to behold in the spring when they are covered in white or pink blossoms. After that, they produce the delicious cherries most people love. These orbs are juicy, tart, red mouthfuls of joy. The flower petals are edible too. They can be salted, add them to goodies like cookies, cakes, and jellies or buy them prepared to brew traditional Japanese sakura tea. Although cherry trees are all over the world, the most beautiful display can be seen in Japan. One of the most famous cherry trees is the Japanese Sakura, which is known for its bountiful spring blossoms. Picnicking under a blooming Sakura is an old practice known as hanami. Gatherings celebrate the beauty of the cherry blossom as they are a symbol for renewal and hope. Though the Sakura trees are known for their blossoms, they do not produce fruit.
